Mendocino Vintners Design Signature Wine

Mendocino County's Eaglepoint Ranch is run by agrarian idealists - S.F. Chronicle

Emeril Loves Coro Mendocino

On a recent trip to Mendocino County to host a charity fundraiser, international culinary superstar Emeril Lagasse was introduced to Coro Mendocino. Six of the Coro winemakers including Eaglepoint Ranch's Casey Hartlip were able to spend some time with Mr. Bamm and taste him on America's first appellation control wine. Emeril was very impressed at the depth and complexity of the wines and commented how well they would go with food.

"Coro is Catching"

Coro Mendocino TattoosThe Coro logo has inspired two Mendocino County winemakers to adopt the unique design permanently. Fred Nickel of Brutocao Cellars and Casey Hartlip of Eaglepoint Ranch, both founding members of Coro Mendocino, have decided to "put a little skin in the game" and have themselves tattooed. The idea was spawned when Hartlip swore he would get a tattoo of the logo if his blend was approved by the five-member tasting panel.

Coro is one of the only wines in the world that undergoes a peer-review process each vintage. While Nickel hasn't decided if he'll have any additional "work done," Hartlip is vowing to add every vintage his wine passes.

History in the Making

The first release of Coro Mendocino

Americas first appellation control wine. Our version of this exciting blend of Zinfandel, Syrah and Petite Sirah is now available.
This wine walks the line between a rich Zinfandel and a lush Southern Rhone blend. Exotic violets and red raspberry combine with allspice in the nose to tell you this is not just another Zinfandel. There's so much more going on here. In the mouth the wine has elegance with complex red fruits, earth, chocolate, smoky bacon with a lingering finish. We feel this wine has both balance and depth, to go with numerous beef and lamb dishes, yet rich enough to be served with chocolate desserts.

71 cases produced. $35/btl limit 3 bottles per order. Limited magnums available at $75/mag.
